Types of Massage Therapy Available at The RUB CLUB

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage utilizes deep pressure, stroking type motions, both along the grain and across the grain of the muscle, targeting knots or tender areas of the muscle. The more intense pressure and techniques associated with deep tissue massage may be slightly uncomfortable and may cause soreness that last for up to a couple of days before providing the desired relief of tension and pain.

Benefits of deep tissue massage includes releasing the knots or tenderness present in the muscle, reducing inflammation, increasing lymphatic flow, as well as helping to eliminate the formation of scar tissue. Deep tissue massage is a very effective component in treating musculoskeletal pain, stiffness and restriction.

At most massage facilities, there is additional costs for this type of massage. At the RUB CLUB, there is NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE when deep tissue massage is requested. In fact, we consider this type of massage our clinic’s specialty!

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy focuses on the treatment of tight areas of the muscle that cause pain into other areas of the body, causing restriction in movement, or, if untreated, may cause weakness in the effected muscle. Trigger points are often found in individuals that have suffered with muscular tension and tightness for a long periods of time. Trigger points are also associated with medical conditions, such as fibromyalgia.

Trigger Point Therapy is a specific massage technique where the therapist must first palpate to identify localized tight areas in the muscle. Then, deep pressure is applied to the tender, tight areas in an attempt to release the areas of tension, resulting in a release of the toxins present and eventual restoration of function in the muscle.

Again, this service is normally more costly at most massage facilities. At The RUB CLUB, there is NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE for providing trigger point therapy.

What separates The RUB CLUB apart from all other local spas, massage centers and home care is that our licensed massage therapist are under the direction of doctors.
